To introduce these new features, Timm presented a webinar on May 30, 2017, on how to use PerRoad 4.3 to compare mixes developed through the 1993 AASHTO Pavement Design Procedure, the AASHTO MEPDG process, and other M-E Design procedures. Part 1 – MEPDG Research Software Maintenance Part 2 – DARWin-ME v2.0 Development. 4 Part 2 – DARWin-ME. Designed using the 1993 AASHTO Guide against pavements designed using MEPDG, in order to better assist North Dakota agencies to make the decision to switch to the MEPDG. There is no doubt that the research project findings and contributions will advance the implementation of the MEPDG and promote the application of MEPDG among NDDOT agencies. Abstract
The Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) was developed under National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Project 1-37A as a novel mechanistic-empirical procedure for the analysis and design of pavements. The MEPDG, published in 2008, was subsequently supported by AASHTO’s DARWin-ME pavement design software (starting in April 2011) and AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design was the next generation of pavement design software (as of February 2013).
